Sven Christiansen is a privately owned, British furniture manufacturing company, grown from a partnership established in 1974. They design and manufacture solutions for all office furniture applications and environments, including office desk systems, reception desks, conference and meeting tables, office screens and wall storage systems.
While Sven offer a very extensive portfolio of standard products, a significant part of their production still comprises custom items. These may be variations on standard products or entirely bespoke furniture. Sven have an exceptionally broad in-house manufacturing capability, encompassing high capacity CNC machining centres and panel plant, traditional cabinetmaking, veneering and spraying, sewing and upholstery, and metal pressing, cutting and welding.
Sven’s factory is in Kingswinford, West Midlands. Their Head Office and southern distribution hub are in Guildford, Surrey, and they have a showroom in Cumbernauld, Scotland and a Design Studio in London. Sven supply their furniture via a nationwide network of distributors.
To improve control and efficiency in the face of thousands of product variations and a mixture of legacy software and manual systems, Sven Christiansen have chosen Syscom PLC to implement a fully integrated, flexible and adaptable business management system.
Syscom are implementing their industry specific version of Microsoft Dynamics AX Software, combining its proven functionality and stability with the customised ability to handle the complex product variations common to many furniture manufacturers. Syscom, in association with Bluestone Leasing, have tailored an affordable finance package that enables Sven Christiansen to spread the entire cost of the new software over several years, with no capital outlay.
Sven Christiansen have been operating an old version of Microsoft Axapta, no longer supported, leaving them both vulnerable and limiting their ability to adapt effectively to changing needs. Syscom have a proven implementation methodology designed to minimise disruption to current operations while transitioning to the new software.This will see Sven Christiansen move over seamlessly to a new, fully integrated business management system in the first half of 2017.
