Kilgour Treatments Ltd
Syscom began working with Kilgour in 1998 where we were asked to create a specialised Production Control system for their Aerospace Engineering Treatments Works.
Over the past 10 years Syscom has been developing, in partnership with Kilgour a work tracking system which keeps track of all the jobs on the shop floor.
From the Initial purchase order to the despatch and invoice. Worktrack ensures procedures for planning checking producing and delivering each and every job are always followed and provides managers with live reports on profit, costs and wastage.
Managers use defined order creation wizards for customer orders, engineering orders and material purchase orders.
Publicana Ltd
In 2008 due to large expansion of their client base Publicana asked us to analyse their current paper based systems and develop a computer driven system which would be capable of providing management reports for hundreds of Pubs throughout the UK.The software we developed runs on a MS SQL Server and is written in .NET. It provides all the information to allow the ring around staff to phone each of their assigned pubs and ask the manager their bankings, weekly takings and expenditure.
Banking figures are automatically checked against bank statements which are imported from the web and confirmed as being correct or otherwise.
This information is then automatically collated each month to provide a profit and loss statement for each pub. Additional information is kept on each pub such as equipment hire details, Staff wages, Utility Bills, Office Costs and Stocktaking reports.
All of the information is available on the web to Area Managers who are then able to set budgets and check costs. Invoices for Publicana’s costs for each pub are automatically generated and printed for their corresponding breweries. The amounts are automatically sent into Sage Line 50 accounts to their relevant nominal accounts.
Sage Payroll is used to pay the staff. The monthly wage amounts are imported into the database to be collated into the Profit & Loss report.
Syscom continue to work hand in hand with Publicana improving this software and it has been essential in allowing Publicana to increase their portfolio of clients.
Bespoke Application, Multiple customers
When one of our customers had a requirement to print from their Unix system through to their document capture software running on a windows server. We decided to check the market for a suitable off the shelf package which would fulfill the requirement.
When we discovered that there was no existing solution we decided to develop our own.This software will capture print outs from a Unix Based system and redirect them to any print capture software running on windows based systems.
Ideal for integrating old Unix based accounts systems with the latest Document Management systems.In addition multiple copies of the print can be sent to one or more windows printers, so not only is the document(ie invoice) captured into the Document Management System but it is also printed out to be sent to the client. This is all transparent to the user.
UNIX print middleware shows how a company like Syscom, with a wide skill set available can come up with innovative solutions to unusual I.T problems.
